SIX SENSES
Message from Wolf
One of the many things that I share with you, our guests, is the importance of family. It is at the center of our cultures and in all the cultures and communities in which Six Senses operates, and we should do everything we can to preserve the joy that it generates.
There is nothing more marvelous and rewarding than to spend quality time with loved ones in endeavors in which we can rediscover our families and ourselves. Some of the simplest things, done together, reinforce and expand on the emotional well-being derived from even the smallest of efforts. This is why Six Senses holds families in such special regard, creating experiences that can be shared and added to the collection of wonderful memories to be stored and relived over and over.
In this newsletter, we’ve assembled just a few of the many family-related experiences on offer; from the grand to the more simple! For example short breaks are especially catered for at one of my favorite Vietnam getaway destinations – Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, just across the bay from bustling Nha Trang. Water and land present almost limitless opportunities for diverse excursions.
Also in Vietnam in the island setting of Six Senses Con Dao, turtle season is approaching. Youngsters and their parents can get up close and personal with nature’s fascinating circle of life. This sensitive program is professionally guided so as not to disturb the parents-to-be, then later in the season when the hatchlings appear, guests have the opportunity to guide the little ones to the water’s edge.
Still in the world of water, Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives has introduced underwater activities specifically for children. There is child-sized equipment and dive-accredited instructors to show the young divers some wonders hidden from everyday viewing.
Continuing with the water theme, Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman is about to launch an extraordinary dhow, the traditional sailing vessel used for centuries in the waters around Arabia and India. This dhow is of the very refined variety with lots of creature comforts. It can comfortably accommodate the whole family in the three staterooms found on the lower level, while the upper deck is reserved for leisure. Sail past tranquil bays with a backdrop of the dramatic Hajar Mountains, stop for a picnic ashore and a spot of snorkeling, even enjoy a pre-planned massage from the resort’s Six Senses Spa. This is surely the ultimate family cruise adventure.
Here’s to a memorable summer season!
